Design and full installation of an AI-powered access control, biometric entry, and integrated CCTV security system across a multi-floor commercial office building in Central London — with ongoing managed security operations. The building owner had an ageing access control system that presented significant operational and security deficiencies: mechanical key and fob access with no audit trail, CCTV coverage that was partial and of insufficient resolution for evidential use, no integration between access and monitoring systems, and no escalation protocol for security events. With a full tenant refurbishment approaching, the decision was made to replace the entire security infrastructure rather than patch the existing one. ISA SpaceNG was appointed to design and deliver the replacement — beginning with a full security audit of the existing estate and a threat and risk assessment specific to the building's tenancy profile, location, and operational hours. System Design The security architecture was designed as an integrated platform from the outset — access control, CCTV, and monitoring operating as a single coordinated system rather than three separate installations. Every design decision was made with the tenant experience in mind: security that is rigorous without being intrusive, and visible only where visibility is appropriate. AI Access Control and Biometric Entry Multi-floor access control was designed and installed across all entry points, lift lobbies, and secure zones — with role-based permissions managed centrally and updated in real time. Biometric access was specified for primary entry points and server room access: fingerprint and facial recognition with anti-spoofing AI, delivering sub-second authentication without physical credential dependency. Temporary and visitor access is managed through a digital credentialing platform — no physical passes issued, no reception dependency for after-hours access. CCTV and AI Monitoring Full CCTV coverage was installed to evidential specification across all floors, common areas, entrances, and the building perimeter — with AI-powered monitoring capable of detecting unusual behaviour patterns, loitering, and restricted-area intrusion in real time rather than after the fact.
